The Challenge: Building a Commercial-Scale Residential Garage

The client required a garage addition that went far beyond typical residential construction, demanding commercial scale and high-quality finishes. The challenge was integrating this massive, custom-built structure—required to house large vehicles and equipment—seamlessly with the existing single-family home in Hampshire.

The Solution: 40' x 65' Oversized Garage Addition

Talon Construction completed a comprehensive new construction addition, resulting in a monumental garage addition measuring 40 feet wide by 65 feet long, with an 18-foot wall height. This was a full-scope, ground-up build encompassing five key areas:

• Foundation & Structure: Scope included full excavation, concrete foundation and footings, and a heavy-duty 6-inch slab pour. The walls utilized robust 2x8 construction, topped with custom roof trusses designed for the span.

• Exterior: The exterior was finished with LP siding, new windows, soffit, fascia, and gutters, all custom-painted to match the existing home perfectly. Asphalt shingles were installed on the roof.

• Interior Systems: The interior received full electrical service, HVAC, complete insulation, and drywall finish and paint.

• Specialized Features: The garage utilized oversized overhead doors fitted with wall-mounted, quiet openers to maximize ceiling clearance.

This project showcases Talon's ability to handle large-footprint new construction, even on a residential property, with meticulous attention to detail and specialized requirements.
