The client in Geneva, IL, sought to transform their unfinished basement into a high-end, functional extension of their main living area.
The primary objective was to create sophisticated entertainment zones, including a dedicated bar and a wine room, while also adding essential utility and storage space. This required a structural and comprehensive systems overhaul of the raw basement environment.
The Solution: Comprehensive Finishing and Custom Amenities
Talon Construction completed a detailed, ground-up finishing project, ensuring the new space was fully integrated and optimized for longevity and luxury:
Structural & Systems Foundation: The project began with concrete excavation for new plumbing lines. New framing, insulation, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems were installed to prepare the space for full-time occupancy.
Custom Entertainment Core: The focal point is the custom bar area, featuring new cabinetry, high-end quartz countertops, and dedicated lighting. Adjacent to the bar, a specialized wine room was constructed.
Finishing & Utility: The renovation included the addition of a new full bathroom, as well as the installation of new trim work, doors, and flooring throughout. Dedicated closets and clean storage areas were constructed, transforming the basement into a fully usable and luxurious extension of the home in Geneva.
